Tan Yew Sing

Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce

Mr Tan Yew Sing is the current president of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce. He is also the founder of INTI Education Group which started operations in 1986, and is currently the chairman of INTI Education Holdings.

Besides being a pioneer in the education industry and a successful edupreneur, Mr Tan is also involved in community services and social organisations. He was appointed by the Malaysian Government as the council member of National Unity Consultative Council . In 2010, he was invited by the Government of People Republic in China as the only Malaysian representative to attend the China National Consultative Assembly. In 2014, the World Chinese Economic Forum has awarded Mr Tan ‘The Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Leadership & Educational Entrepreneurship’. Mr Tan has also been awarded ‘2016 Global Outstanding Chinese Elite Award’ by Global Outstanding Chinese Association and ‘National Outstanding Innovator Award (University Category)’, awarded by EduCoop, Private Education Co-Operative of Malaysia.

Mr. Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK in 1979 and holds a Masters in Business Administration majoring in Management Science from City University, London. Mr. Tan was conferred the degree of Doctor of Business Administration honoris causa from the Coventry University, UK in 2002 and the Honorary Doctor degree of Laws from University of Hertfordshire, in 2003, in recognition for his outstanding contribution to international education.
